Forest of Reading

The Forest of Reading® is Canada’s largest recreational reading program!  There are ten reading programs to encourage a love of reading at all ages. This program celebrates Canadian books, publishers, authors, and illustrators.  Annually there are more than 270,000 readers participating!

At CHPS we have access to the texts in each of the following Forest of Reading®  programs:

• Blue Spruce (FDK/Primary)
• Silver Birch Express (Grades 3/4)
• Silver Birch Fiction (Junior)
• Red Maple (Intermediate)
• Yellow Cedar (Non-Fiction - Junior/Intermediate)
